Every Thursday evening the Federal Programs Department hosts FREE academic learning/tutoring and parent education classes at Bush Elementary here in Salem.  From 5:30-6:00pm dinner is served.  A math or a literacy lesson for students K-12 is taught from 6:00-7:30.  Each week is a different lesson.  The book used in the lesson is sent home with the student.  Activities for  the book are sent home with parents.  A study hall is also offered from 6:00-7:30 for K-12 students as well.  Tutors and a secondary math teacher are available during this time.  There is also volunteer opportunities for parents or a class title "Parenting is a pleasure" is taught during this time frame.  This is a great opportunity whether your child is struggling, or just needs a little extra help.  If you have further questions, please call us here in the office at 503-399-3332.
