This week at Miller, we are getting ready for the Jog-A-Thon.  It is on Friday, April 22, which is also EARTH DAY!  We may even have some special visitors like Senate President Peter Courtney and our big mammoth mascot. If you are interested in cheering on your child, please watch for a schedule to come home, or call Mr. Stoyles, one of our PE teachers here at Miller. Again, the Jog A thon is Friday, April 22.

In other news, you have recently received some “homework” to do for teacher appreciation (if you haven’t found it yet, check your mailbox).  Please be sure to complete this homework and get it to the school office in a timely manner.  Thanks so much!

There are three events NEXT week that I want you to be aware of, also.  The first is a Family Movie Night on Thursday, April 28.  The movie will be “The Peanuts Movie.”  Doors open at 6:15 and the movie starts at 6:30.  Because all of our movie nights are family movie nights, students will not be permitted to enter without a supervising family member.

Another event that is happening that same night is the “Day of the Child” Festival at McKay High school.  Our Mammoth Mascot will be there, and the night will be filled with food, fun, games, and activities like Zumba!  The fun begins at 5:30 in the evening and the event concludes at 8:00 PM.  Again, that is the Day of the Child Festival and it is NEXT Thursday at McKay High School.

Also, you need to be aware that there is no school NEXT Friday, April 29.  THIS Friday is the Jog-A-Thon and NEXT Friday, April 29, there is no school.  It is a staff development day, set aside for staff learning.

Finally, our school was selling Smencils (smelly pencils) for a fundraiser for the yearbook.  At this point, the Smencils are completely sold out, so be sure your child isn’t bringing money to school any longer.
