Weekly Update - April 5, 2016

This week at Miller, state testing continues.  The fifth graders have completed their science test, and one of the two math tests have been finished by fourth graders.  Math will continue this week with fourth and fifth graders.  We appreciate your support in getting your kids to school so we can avoid testing on Saturdays!

In other news, our Jog-A-Thon is coming up on April 22.  Pledge envelopes went out last week.  In another part of town, a school raised over $20,000 with their jog-a-thon.  Our most recent jog-a-thon raised about $5000.  We are hoping to increase that to $8000, and with such a supportive community, we know we can do it!  If each child raises $20, we can easily accomplish this goal!  Talk to your neighbors, friends, and coworkers to rally the support for our Miller Mammoths!  Money raised will pay for field trips, guest speakers, technology, and classroom supplies.  Thanks for your support!

I also want to remind you that there is a PTT meeting on Monday.  PTT is the organization in our school that plans awesome events like our Jog-A-Thon, Field Day, movie nights, AND they decide what to do with the money raised at these events.  All families are invited and there is childcare provided.  Our next PTT meeting is Monday, April 11 at 6:30 in the evening.  See you there!

Finally, if you know of any children who will be 5 before September 10, the time to register for kindergarten is NOW.  We are currently accepting registrations for next school year--please spread the word that it is time to register for kindergarten.
