This week and this month at Miller, we are focused on the character trait of Perseverance.  Perseverance and grit is shown in the research to make a huge difference in the success of students, so we really want students to learn how important it is to KEEP TRYING!  Feel free to look for ways to build perseverance at home too!

Also this week, we are talking about Martin Luther King Jr. who was a civil rights leader in the 1960s.  We are teaching students that he worked for equality for all.  Martin Luther King Jr. Day is Monday, January 18 and there will be no school on that day. Again, there is no school on Monday, January 18.

Additionally, I want to remind first and second grade parents to return the dental sealant form by tomorrow, January 13, and I want to thank the families that have already turned theirs in!

Finally, we use our Facebook page for reminders, events, and resources, so be sure to follow us on Facebook.
