This week, we have a lot of exciting things going on!  Kindergarten Orientation for next year’s kindergarteners is Thursday night.  If you know of any families who have children who will be 5 before September 10, make sure they know about Kindergarten Orientation.  It is happening across our school district this week, so regardless of their home school, spread the word that they need to be going to this event this week!  Miller Kindergarten Orientation is Thursday night from 6:00-7:00 PM.  We will be sharing introductory information about Miller, about kindergarten, and about how to prepare students for this important experience.  Please help us get the word out.  Again, Kinder Orientation is Thursday, May 12, from 6-7 in the evening.  Thanks!

Also this week is the Bike show/Barbecue/photo booth/carnival game event hosted by the Northwest Veteran’s Motorcycle Club!  All motorcycle enthusiasts are invited to attend and to enter bikes into a contest where the coolest bikes will be awarded based on kid’s votes!  The Bike Show is Friday, May 13 starting at 5 in the evening.  There is a suggested donation for adult meals and there will be a small cost for carnival games and the photo booth.  All proceeds will benefit Miller Elementary.  This is a fun first time event and we are excited about it!  We will see you on Friday night!

Finally, as we finish up the year, it will be important to finish strong!  Be sure to help your child maintain great attendance--every day matters!  Students who miss school have a harder time connecting to their peers, they feel isolated, and they feel academically lost.  Do you want these things for your child?  I don’t want my children to feel socially isolated! That seems lonely and sad!  Attending school everyday helps students feel better about school.  Let’s finish strong, Mammoths!
